Job summary

Nitro, the global SaaS leader in digital document workflows, is seeking an Engineering Manager in Dublin, Ireland. You will lead a team of Windows desktop and core PDF tech engineers, driving delivery, quality, and a customer‑centric mindset.

You will champion modern practices, mentor engineers, and partner with product and design to align with business goals, while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years as an Engineering Manager in software development with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of application development and release management.
• Experience with Windows/Desktop development is a plus.
• Proven track record shipping user‑focused applications.
• Hands‑on with modern development practices (Agentic Workflows, CI/CD, testing, version control).

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, driven, and customer-focused Engineering Manager to lead our team of skilled engineers in the development and delivery of our Windows desktop applications and core PDF technologies .

The ideal candidate will have a relentless focus on delivering an exceptional user experience, have a strong technical background, proven leadership abilities, and experience in managing teams operating under Agile and Scrum frameworks. You will play a pivotal role in driving team performance, ensuring high-quality software delivery, and fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire team s of C++ and C# application engineers, taking accountability for delivery across your teams.

• Actively foster a high bar for engineering excellence with a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.

• Encourage and enable a customer-centric mindset within the team, working closely with our product and partner teams to develop solutions that exceed our customer expectations.

• Support professional growth through regular feedback, coaching, and performance reviews.

• Partner with senior engineers in your area to drive technical initiatives that raise the bar for our engineering practices.

• Lead communication with stakeholders from other teams, creating focus ed space for engineers to do their best work.

• Collaborate with the wider engineering organisation to contribute to and improve company-wide best managerial and technical practices and standards.

• Champion and implement modern AI -assisted development practices and agentic workflows to maximize team efficiency and transparency, using metrics to identify process improvements and make data driven decisions.

• Align engineering efforts with business goals, product vision, and technical strategy.

• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 3-5+ years as an Engineering Manager in a software development environment with direct experience leading cross functional teams.

• Strong understanding of application development and release management.

• Experience with Windows or Desktop development is a plus.

• Track record of shipping user focused applications and products.

• Hands-on experience with modern development practices such as Agentic Workflows, CI/CD, unit testing, and version control (Git).

• Proven experience leading teams using Agile and/or Scrum methodologies.

• Ability to quickly build trust, motivate, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.

• Strong communication , organizational, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work with a diverse set of teams and individuals with various working styles to drive clarity, make decisions and simply get things done.

• Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA , and CX teams.
