Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Athy, Ireland is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and develop the engineering team on site. You will own the engineering function, drive reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement, and manage CAPEX and improvement projects within a global organisation.

The role requires a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree, proven people and performance management experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Are you an experienced Engineering professional with strong people-management skills and the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team?

We’re recruiting an Engineering Manager to join a well-established, global organisation in Athy, taking ownership of the engineering function and playing a key role within the site management team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading, motivating and developing the Engineering team
• Managing day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities
• Driving plant reliability, performance and continuous improvement
• Leading engineering, CAPEX and improvement projects
• Improving OEE and identifying opportunities to enhance plant performance
• Ensuring engineering, safety and compliance standards are maintained
• Managing contractors, budgets and engineering resources

What we’re looking for:

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Proven people and performance management experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• A structured, solution-focused approach
• Experience managing engineering projects and driving improvement
• Manufacturing experience is advantageous, but not essential
