Job summary

AllPro Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Advisor – Mechanical, aligned to the Technical Services Officer grade, for a major healthcare construction programme based in Dublin. The role focuses on providing client-side mechanical oversight through construction, commissioning, handover and operational readiness.

You will work within the client project team to assure building services meet quality and performance criteria, collaborating with designers, contractors and subcontractors

Qualifications

• Senior mechanical or building services engineer with large-scale project experience.
• Experience in client-side engineering, consultancy or technical assurance.
• Strong reporting, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering oversight throughout construction and delivery.
• Review contractor technical submissions, drawings, proposals and commissioning documentation.
• Work with designers, contractors and specialist subcontractors to resolve technical queries.
• Participate in site inspections and quality reviews, supporting defect resolution.
• Assess changes for impact on performance, maintainability, cost and programme.
• Support testing, commissioning and integrated systems testing.
• Liaise with hospital estates to support maintenance planning and readiness.
• Review handover information and training requirements; communicate risks clearly.

AllPro Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Advisor – Mechanical, aligned to Technical Services Officer (TSO) grade, for a major healthcare construction programme based in Dublin.

This is an opportunity for a senior mechanical or building services engineering professional to contribute to a major healthcare capital development, providing client-side technical oversight through construction, commissioning, handover and operational readiness.

The Role

Working within the client project team, the successful candidate will provide mechanical engineering expertise and technical assurance, helping to ensure that building services installations meet the project’s quality, performance and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering oversight throughout construction and delivery.
• Review contractor technical submissions, drawings, proposals and commissioning documentation.
• Work with designers, contractors and specialist subcontractors to resolve technical queries and construction issues.
• Participate in site inspections and quality reviews, supporting the resolution of defects and non-conformances.
• Assess proposed changes for their impact on performance, maintainability, cost and programme.
• Support testing, commissioning and integrated systems testing.
• Liaise with hospital estates and operational teams to support maintenance planning and operational readiness.
• Review operation and maintenance information, training requirements and handover documentation.
• Communicate technical risks and recommendations clearly to the wider project team.

Candidate Profile

We are interested in hearing from senior mechanical or building services engineers with substantial experience delivering large-scale, technically complex construction projects.

Relevant experience may include:

• Mechanical building services delivery through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Client-side engineering, consultancy, contractor delivery or technical assurance.
• Technical reviews, site inspections and construction quality management.
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and specialist contractors.
• Strong technical reporting, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Experience on major hospital or healthcare developments would be advantageous. Candidates with experience in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, laboratory, data centre or other technically complex environments are also encouraged to express their interest.
