Job summary

Mowlam Healthcare Ballinasloe invites applications for an Activities Coordinator to support Residents with daily activities under nursing supervision. You will plan and run daily programs, arrange special events, and maintain Life Story Books while keeping care staff updated on each Resident’s well-being.

The role requires empathy, strong communication, and a bilingual-friendly approach to maintain privacy and dignity at all times. Flexible hours and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Healthcare/Social care.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Fluent English both written and oral.
• Strong communication skills; empathetic and caring.
• Willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of residents and the home.

Responsibilities

• Organise and maintain daily standard activities for Residents (arts, crafts, baking, games, etc.).
• Plan and implement special activities and events (outings, parties, seasonal celebrations).
• Draw up daily/weekly activity schedules and maintain resident activity files.
• Maintain up-to-date Life Story Books for Residents.
• Keep nursing staff informed about Residents’ condition and requirements.
• Assist with orientation of new Residents to the Nursing Home environment.
• Attend in-service training and education programmes as required.
• Perform escort duties as needed and work across areas of the Nursing Home.
