Job summary

Orwell Healthcare is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to join our team. You will plan, organise and run engaging activities for residents in the ABI unit and surrounding units to improve intellectual, physical and social wellbeing within a supportive, homely environment.

The role requires flexible work across five days from seven, collaboration with the MDT, families and staff, and adherence to Orwell Healthcare policies and HIQA standards.

Qualifications

• Certification as an Activities Professional by a recognized accrediting organization.
• Strong public speaking skills and engagement with residents.
• Solid knowledge of event planning practices and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Organise and run activities for residents in the ABI unit and residents.
• Arrange and implement individual, small and large group activities on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Plan social and spiritual events in conjunction with staff, residents and families.
• Liaise with MDT, external parties and contractors.
• Encourage involvement from residents, staff and the local community.
• Advertise weekly events and liaise with administration regarding newsletters and upcoming events.
• Promote a positive culture towards activities in the Nursing Home.
• Be knowledgeable and experienced in IT systems.
