Job summary

Meta is seeking an Employment Investigator to conduct prompt, thorough investigations across multiple regions, partnering with Employment Law, HR and Employee Relations. The role involves research, interviews, and debriefs, with opportunities to deliver compliance training and drive long‑term workplace solutions.

The investigator will manage cross‑regionally, maintain neutrality, articulate findings, and help develop systemic improvements in a dynamic, global environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end employment investigations across Meta office locations in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas.
  • Partner with Employment Law, HR, Employee Relations, Security, Internal Audit, and business units.
  • Investigate complaints involving discrimination, harassment, privacy concerns, conflicts of interest, and other misconduct.
  • Conduct intake meetings, background research, interviews, and debriefs; synthesize data to reach factual findings.
  • Prepare reports and present oral/written debriefs to stakeholders; identify systemic issues and propose solutions.
  • Provide timely communication to all parties and handle escalations with empathy and neutrality.
  • Deliver compliance education programs and training related to workplace issues.

Job description

As Employment Investigator at Meta, you will be responsible for conducting prompt, thorough, and fair investigations comprising background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings in partnership with Employment Law, HR and Employee Relations Business Partners, and the business. Although you will primarily conduct investigations in your local region (EMEA), you will be expected to manage some investigations cross-regionally. Success in this role will require working effectively across geographical and cultural boundaries and discerning systemic issues revealed during the investigative process. Our Employment Investigators demonstrate empathy by actively engaging with all parties and maintaining a respectful, neutral tone throughout the investigative process balanced against an ability to provide direct feedback and confront witnesses with difficult information. You must be able to articulate findings to the business in the form of oral and/or written summaries and conclusions so that long-term solutions can be developed and applied. As an Employment Investigator, you will also have the opportunity to deliver compliance education programs and training designed proactively to address workplace issues.

Employment Investigator Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex employment related investigations, end-to-end, including conducting intake meetings, background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings, across Meta office locations within Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas
  • Partner closely with global cross-functional partners within Employment Law, Human Resources and Employee Relations, Security, Internal Audit, etc., and business units to conduct prompt, thorough, and fair investigations
  • Investigate complaints involving violations of law or policy, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, bullying, privacy concerns, conflict of interest, integrity, failure to escape and other inappropriate behavior
  • Conduct intake meetings and investigative interviews, background research, analyze and synthesize relevant documents and data to make factual findings that address all relevant policy issues
  • prepare reports, summaries, and present oral and/or written debriefs to appropriate stakeholders on investigation findings
  • Discern systemic issues and use data to help develop long-term solutions
  • Provide timely communication to all relevant parties throughout the investigations process, including responding to case escalations
  • Remain respectful and empathetic in the face of difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience conducting investigations that will withstand legal scrutiny in multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience working independently, acting on priorities and exercising sound judgment
  • Demonstrate collaborative relationship management skills in a highly cross-functional environment
  • Experience in documenting investigation findings and recommendations
  • Experience in presenting findings and recommendations to leadership or those with dissenting opinions
  • Problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking skills and a high degree of comfort with working with data
  • Experience working effectively in a rapidly changing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience, either in conducting and/or managing investigations or in practicing employment law
  • Currently has a Bachelor's degree in HR/Business, Employee Relations, and/or Employment Law
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience in conducting facilitation and/or mediations
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Experience in identifying relevant legal issues
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Project management experience at both a strategic and tactical level
