Job description

Meta seeks a motivated and organized team player to join our growing European Privacy and Data Policy team. You will work on strategic engagement and outreach with privacy and data policy stakeholders in Ireland and the UK. This will involve working on cutting‑edge data policy issues and building relationships with key stakeholders. The role will involve proactive policy development, project management, and the creation of networks across different sectors. You will work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment and present to both internal and external audiences. This role involves working on novel public policy issues.

Privacy and Data Policy Manager Responsibilities
  • Identify and monitor data policy issues affecting Meta in Ireland and the UK.
  • Analyse legislative and regulatory proposals on privacy, data, and related technology issues in Ireland, the UK, and the wider European region.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams on a range of policy issues, including strategically drafting submissions and engagement plans for local policy audiences.
  • Develop proactive strategies and initiatives to address policy challenges.
  • Engage and build relationships with relevant stakeholders, including policymakers, academics, and NGOs in Ireland and the UK.
  • Represent Meta at meetings and conferences.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant feild.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in a public policy role, with experience in privacy, data policy, or related technology fields.
  • Experience in managing strategic outreach with a broad range of stakeholders within policy, advocacy, or government positions.
  • Experience navigating cross‑functional teams and prioritising competing project timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews).
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimise/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements).
