Job summary

Village Vets in Lissenhall, Ireland, is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Support Assistant to join our team. You will assist the Veterinary Surgeon and Veterinary Nurse with day-to-day clinical duties, support patient care, and help maintain our high standards of animal welfare and client service.

We offer a 40-hour week, 1 in 3 Saturdays and 1 in 13 Sundays, a 3-month contract with potential permanency, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for CPD and career development.

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience in small animal practice.
• Completed a relevant animal care qualification.
• Motivated, hard-working, and a strong team player.
• Excellent customer care and commitment to animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Veterinary Surgeon and Veterinary Nurse with day-to-day clinical duties.
• Support the care of patients and inpatients, maintaining high standards of care.
• Carry out general cleaning duties throughout the clinic, including equipment and animal areas.
• Perform routine laboratory work under the direction of the Veterinary Nurse.
• Assist with front-of-house duties and ensure an efficient, friendly reception experience.
• Promote Pet Health Plans and Pet Insurance to support clients in accessing veterinary care.
• Carry out ad hoc clinical and administrative duties as required by the Head Nurse or Area Manager.
• Complete all tasks efficiently, accurately, and to a high standard.
• Contribute to and maintain an outstanding client and patient experience across the team.

About the Role

About you
