Village Vets Leixlip is seeking a qualified RVN for a busy small animal practice. You will provide nursing care, monitor patients, and assist with emergencies alongside our veterinary team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out medical procedures such as IV catheter placement, medications, fluids, and diagnostic tests.
• Assist with anaesthesia induction, monitoring, and post-operative recovery.

Location: Village Vets Leixlip

Reports to: Head Nurse

Schedule: 40 hour week, 1:4 Saturdays 9-5, 1:12 Weekends (Out of Hours Day Shift) - Village Vets Ashbourne)

Salary: €33,000 - €36,000 depending on experience + €1k Sign On Bonus

Located right at Riverforest Shopping Centre our modern clinic provides a full range of everyday veterinary care, including vaccinations, preventative healthcare, dentistry, general surgery, in-house diagnostics and imaging. About the Role

• Provide continuous, attentive nursing care to critically ill or injured patients, monitoring vital signs and assessing pain levels
• Support veterinarians during emergency procedures, including triage, resuscitation, wound management, and surgery
• Carry out essential medical procedures such as placing IV catheters, administering medications and fluids, and performing diagnostic tests
• Assist with anaesthesia induction, monitoring, and post operative recovery for critical patients
• Maintain strict infection control standards and ensure a clean, sterile environment
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners, providing updates and guidance on treatment and aftercare
• Work closely with vets, nurses, and support staff to deliver cohesive, high quality emergency care
• Help train and mentor junior team members in
• Keep detailed, accurate medical records and provide thorough handovers between shifts

About You

• Qualified and VCI registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
• Minimum of one years’ experience as a qualified RVN in small animal practice
