Job summary

Harvey’s in‑house legal team is expanding and seeks a privacy lawyer to support global privacy programs and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the Head of Privacy to foster a culture of privacy and security across the organization, advising engineering, product, and commercial teams on data protection obligations.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 4+ years of post‑qualification experience in privacy and data protection.
• Experience with EU and US data protection law and global compliance frameworks.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills for data privacy, AI, and security matters.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Data Processing Agreements with customers, subprocessors, service providers, and third parties.
• Help develop and scale global privacy programs, including DPIAs and records of processing.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to evaluate privacy and data protection laws for product developments.
• Monitor changes in privacy laws and regulations, including AI regulations.
• Support AI-specific regulation compliance, including EU AI Act and UK AI governance.
• Assist in classification of AI systems, risk assessments, and AI governance controls.
• Partner with stakeholders on AI transparency, accountability, and human oversight.
