Job summary

RECRUITERS in Ireland is seeking a qualified Accountant for an 11-month contract to support EMEA payroll and benefit accounting within a high-profile global technology organisation. You will help drive operational improvements and work across multiple teams.

You will own end-to-end payroll and benefit accounting, review journals, and contribute to month-end close with a focus on accuracy and controls. 2–3 days per week in the office, with potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Big Four training background plus 1–2 years post-qualified industry experience.
• Strong end-to-end month-end and reconciliation experience.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and standard close processes.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and confidence handling large datasets.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll and benefit accounting across a portfolio of EMEA entities.
• Review and approve payroll and ad-hoc journals.
• Prepare/review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
• Code cash transactions and ensure cash balances align with liabilities.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close, including flux analysis.
• Partner with Payroll Operations and cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Contribute to process improvements, AI initiatives and operational efficiency projects.
• Maintain robust documentation and internal controls.
