Role Description

The Electrician role at OCH ELECTRICAL GROUP is a full-time, on-site position based in Cork. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting technical drawings, diagnosing faults, performing troubleshooting, and ensuring all work complies with relevant regulations and safety standards. The role involves conducting routine inspections, documenting work performed, coordinating with team members and site managers, and communicating clearly with clients when needed. The Electrician will also be expected to maintain tools and equipment in good working order and contribute to a safe, organized job site.

Qualifications

• Strong practical skills in electricity and electrical work, including safe handling of electrical systems.
• Ability to perform maintenance & repair tasks on a range of electrical installations and equipment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical issues and identifying effective, safe solutions.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles relevant to on-site installation and repair.
• Relevant electrical trade qualification, apprenticeship, or certification recognized in Ireland.
• Up-to-date knowledge of local electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices.
• Capability to work safely in varied environments, including using appropriate PPE and following safety procedures.
• Good communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to different sites around Cork and surrounding areas.
