Job summary

Vertiv Ireland Limited in Burnfoot, Co. Donegal, is seeking skilled Electricians for multiple opportunities. You will wire and assemble LV/MV switchgear and control panels, working to engineering drawings and production schedules in both factory and customer-site settings.

Reporting to Production Manager/Supervisors, you’ll join a dynamic team focused on high quality workmanship and safety. Relevant City & Guilds electrical qualifications and 17th Edition are essential, with on-site installation

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Electrical Qualification & AM2 or Equivalent.
• Experience in Electrical switchgear manufacture or similar.
• Experience in field service work / on-site installations.
• Current 17th Edition Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assembling electrical switchgear and related electromechanical equipment based on drawings and schedules.
• Maintaining high-quality workmanship in factory and customer sites.
• Reading technical drawings, schematics and manuals for precise assembly.
• Fitting, building and constructing parts for integration.
• Carrying out mechanical and electrical maintenance, site modifications and thermal imaging inspections.
• Keeping a clean, safe work environment following company policies.
• Completing testing of panels, including current injection testing.
• Mentoring team members and sharing technical expertise.
• Reporting substandard or defective parts immediately.
• Measuring and selecting components for proper fit.
• Carrying out MTOs and ordering materials for tasks and sites.
• Assembling prototype and development units with supervision.
• Producing thermal imaging reports and maintaining records.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembling electrical switchgear and related electromechanical equipment based on engineering drawings and production schedules.
• Maintaining high-quality workmanship standards both in the factory and at customer premises.
• Working from technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to ensure precise assembly.
• Contribute to the fitting, building, and construction of various parts for seamless component integration.
• Conducting mechanical and electrical maintenance, including site modifications and thermal imaging inspections.
• Ensuring a clean, safe working environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Complete testing of panels, including current injection testing.
• Supporting and mentoring team members, sharing technical expertise and best practices.
• Reporting on any substandard, malfunctioning, or defective parts.
• Selecting, measuring and modifying components to ensure proper fit.
• Carrying out MTOs and order materials for allocated tasks, both internally and for site works.
• Assembling prototype and development units in collaboration with supervisors and managers.
• Conducting thermal imaging inspections and compile reports.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• City & Guilds Electrical Qualification & an Engineering Apprenticeship with AM2 or Equivalent.
• Experience in Electrical switchgear manufacture or similar.
• Experience in field service work / on-site installations.
• Current 17th Edition Certification.

Desirable Skills, Qualification and Experience

• Mechanical knowledge would be advantageous.
• Familiar with Risk Assessments and Method statements (RAMS).
• A strong foundation in electro-mechanical skills, along with a sound understanding of engineering tools, electrical hand tools, and equipment including torquing techniques is beneficial, but we also offer guidance and support to help you succeed.
