Job summary

Elite Talent Hub is recruiting an Electrical Estimator for a specialist fire protection contractor based in Parkwest, Dublin 12. You will lead estimating for fire alarm and detection packages from tender enquiry to handover to the project team.

You will work with the Operations Director and project managers to price work accurately and competitively, ensuring a clear cost plan is handed to the project team and pricing databases are kept up to date.

Qualifications

• Experience as Estimator, QS, Project Engineer or Electrician in fire alarm, security or electrical contracting.
• Working knowledge of IS 3218 and EN 54, and of addressable fire alarm systems.
• Able to read electrical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Experience with take-off software such as Bluebeam or CostX is an advantage.
• Commercially minded, organised and able to manage several tenders at once.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, specifications and drawings, and prepare accurate take-offs.
• Price fire alarm and detection systems, including addressable systems, voice alarm, aspirating detection, emergency lighting and system interfaces.
• Get and compare quotes from equipment suppliers and subcontractors.
• Build labour, material and programme assumptions into competitive tender returns.
• Prepare clarifications, exclusions and qualifications, and propose value engineering options.
• Attend tender review and handover meetings, making sure the project team inherits a clear cost plan.
• Keep pricing databases and supplier rates up to date.

About the Role
