Job summary

Global Professional Consultants Ireland is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a major construction project for a Data Centre based in Germany. This role involves taking ownership of electrical engineering activities from design review to commissioning, ensuring projects meet high standards.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering, 4+ years’ experience with electrical contractors, and strong skills in BIM coordination.

Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a major construction project of a Data Centre based in Germany. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take ownership of electrical engineering activities from design review through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical designs to identify gaps, clashes and specification deviations.
• Validate cable sizing and provide technical recommendations.
• Prepare and manage technical submittals through the approval process.
• Coordinate procurement, delivery and verification of electrical equipment.
• Work closely with BIM, design teams and subcontractors to ensure installations are fully coordinated and constructible.
• Monitor project progress, maintain system trackers and support programme delivery.
• Carry out electrical system inspections and walk-downs to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Compile test documentation, FTOPs and O&M manuals for client approval.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 4+ years’ experience with an electrical contractor delivering building services projects.
• Strong experience with LV and MV electrical systems, ideally within data centre, commercial, industrial or pharmaceutical projects.
• Proven ability to manage technical reviews, electrical submittals and commissioning activities.
• Strong understanding of BIM coordination and electrical system compliance.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers is advantageous.
