Job summary

Global Professional Consultants Ireland is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer for a hybrid role based in Dublin. The successful candidate will support the pre-construction team on several Data Centre projects across Ireland and Europe.

Key responsibilities include working with designers, reviewing project designs, analyzing methodologies, and collaborating with the supply chain. A degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering and 2+ years of experience are required. Benefits include a salary of €45,000 to €55,000, hybrid working, and support towards Chartership status.

Qualifications

• 2 years+ post grad experience.
• Experience working on large construction projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with designers to enhance detailed design proposals.
• Review the project design and investigate alternative construction approaches.
• Analyse the construction methodology to reveal program implications.
• Collaborate with the supply chain on subcontract packages.
• Assess subcontract proposals and generate technical and commercial analysis.
• Examine project logistics for temporary works needs.
• Define site setup and preliminary project requirements.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and craft mitigation plans.

Hybrid Working Opportunity

Junior Electrical Engineer required for a Tier 1 M&E contractor based out of their offices in Dublin. The successful Engineer will be responsible for supporting the pre-construction team for several Data Centre Projects in Ireland and Mainland Europe.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with designers to enhance detailed design proposals.
• Review the project design and investigate alternative construction approaches.
• Analyse the construction methodology to reveal program implications and temporary works needed.
• Collaborate with the supply chain to establish subcontract packages.
• Assess subcontract proposals and generate a technical/commercial analysis for preferred bidder selection.
• Examine project logistics to determine required temporary works for construction and management.
• Define site setup and compound, detailing preliminary project requirements.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, crafting mitigation plans.
• Explore different aspects of the project and tendering procedures.

Requirements

• A degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• 2 years+ post grad experience.
• Experience working on large construction projects is advantageous.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Fluent English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines.
