Job summary

Suir Engineering Ltd in Waterford seeks an Electrical Engineer to join our team on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on preparing accurate electrical cost estimates and tender submissions for large-scale Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Energy projects.

You will review client specifications, carry out quantity take-offs from drawings, source quotations, and collaborate with engineering, project management and commercial teams to develop robust proposals.

Qualifications

• Third level degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in mission critical sectors is beneficial.
• Ability to prioritise workload with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate electrical cost estimates and tender submissions for large-scale projects.
• Review client specifications, drawings and tender requirements to identify deliverables and risks.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and material assessments from electrical drawings.
• Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for competitive submissions.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management and commercial teams on proposals.
• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Prepare detailed bid documentation, pricing schedules and technical submissions.
• Analyse tender returns and maintain estimating databases and historical costs.
• Attend tender review meetings and contribute to bid strategy discussions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders during tendering.

What you will be doing

• Prepare accurate electrical cost estimates and tender submissions for large-scale projects across Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Energy sectors.
• Review client specifications, drawings, scope documents and tender requirements to identify key project deliverables and risks.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and material assessments from electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and compliant tender submissions.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management and commercial teams to develop robust technical and commercial proposals.
• Assist in value engineering exercises and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
• Prepare detailed bid documentation, pricing schedules and supporting technical submissions.
• Analyse tender returns and maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
• Attend tender review meetings and contribute to bid strategy discussions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders throughout the tendering process to clarify technical requirements.

• Suitable Candidates must have a third level degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years’ experience working as an Electrical Engineer.
