Job summary

Vertiv, a leading manufacturer of electrical switchgear and busbars, is hiring a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join the Busbar team in Ireland. You’ll contribute to innovative, sustainable structural designs supporting AI-driven technologies and data centre environments.

Working with a multidisciplinary team, you’ll handle design from bid stage to installation, ensure compliance with standards, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing and site teams to deliver safe and efficient

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering, building services or related field.
• Graduate position, preferably from building services background.
• Fluent in English.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, EPLAN/Amtech and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design and integration of busbar structures from bid to installation.
• Prepare design and workshop documentation and BoMs.
• Ensure compliance with international, national and internal standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project execution and site support.

What you'll do? As a team player, your responsibilities include:

• Busbar Structures: Be part of the team for electrical design/integration of solutions from bid stage to completion. Preparation of design & workshop documentation and ordering BoMs for installation material and non-critical equipment.
• Ensuring Compliance and Best Practices: Apply international, national, and internal standards, ensuring that all designs are safe, compliant, and cost-effective. Integrate good engineering practices into every stage of the design process.
• Collaborating Across Teams: Actively participate in project kick-off and coordination meetings, and engage with cross-functional teams, including architectural, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and site engineers, to ensure a cohesive project execution.
• Supporting Execution and Site Activities: Provide technical support during fabrication and assembly. Collaborate with site managers, manufacturing, quality control, and commissioning engineers to resolve structural issues and ensure safe and efficient implementation.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering, building services or similar degree.
• Experience: Graduate position ideally from a building services background.
• Language: Fluent in English.
• Software Skills: Experience in Solidowkrs, AutoCAD, Inventor, EPLAN/Amtech, and MS Office.
• Key Competencies: Attention to detail, analytical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, organisation, flexibility, and strong team collaboration.
