Job summary

Stryker Group in Ireland is seeking an engineering co-op focusing on electrical components for medical devices. You will assist with design, prototyping, testing, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

The role offers exposure to R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, and Project Management teams. It emphasizes learning procedures, policies, and new technologies within a patient-centric health care context.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an Irish/Northern Irish degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Know electrical engineering practices and tools in regulated environments.
  • Basic schematic and PCB design knowledge.
  • Familiar with analysis tools and statistics.
  • Ability to read complex electrical layouts.
  • Proficient in MS Office for documentation and analysis.
  • Experience with bench-testing equipment during labs or projects.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in design, development, modification, and verification of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Assist with prototyping and bench testing.
  • Support problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Conduct research and studies to support product design.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and PM to ensure project success.
  • Learn procedures, policies, processes, systems and technology.
  • Work on problems in limited scope and gain experience.
  • Demonstrate ownership and integrity of work.
  • Build stable relationships.
  • Contribute to the project as a team member.

Job description

Tasks and Responsibilities may include:
  • Under supervision, assist in the design, develop, modification, and verification of mechanical and electrical components for medical devices.

  • Assist with prototyping and bench testing.

  • Support problem solving, root cause analysis, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements.

  • Under supervision, conduct research and studies to support product design

  • With supervision, work with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success.

  • Learn procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required.

  • Work on problems in limited scope; purposefully learn while gaining experience.

  • Demonstrate ownership and integrity of work.

  • Build stable relationships.

  • Contribute to the project as a team member.

What you will need:
  • Currently completing an Irish or Northern Irish university qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or similar.

  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering practices and tools, design principles within a regulated environment.

  • Basic knowledge of schematic and PCB design

  • Basic knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methods.

  • Ability to read and Interpret complex electrical layouts

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and analysis.

  • Familiarity with eCAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar tools used in coursework).

  • Exposure to bench-testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators) during labs or projects.

  • Excellent cross-function communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn new technologies.

Ireland Pay Ranges:
  • Ireland: €30,000 EUR Annual
