Job summary

Adecco is recruiting an Electrical Operations Technician for a data centre at Grange Castle in Ireland. You will monitor critical electrical systems, respond to alarms, carry out switchgear checks and support safe work procedures on a 12-hour rotating shift.

This role offers an attractive salary, shift allowance, annual bonus and pension, with progression in a highly technical environment. Ideal for candidates with Level 6 electrical qualification and experience in mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Recognised Level 6 electrical trade qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in mission-critical, industrial or utilities environments.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Experience with electrical switching, isolations and safe work procedures.
• Experience with UPS systems, generators and backup power infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills under pressure and good digital literacy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate critical electrical systems to maintain continuous service.
• Respond quickly to alarms, incidents and abnormal operating conditions.
• Carry out electrical switching, isolations and routine checks.
• Support safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures.
• Inspect switchgear and distribution systems and backup power infrastructure.
• Assist with planned maintenance, testing and fault-finding on electrical systems.
• Monitor UPS, generators and backup power equipment.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate operational records and provide detailed shift handovers.

I'm excited to be recruiting for an Electrical Operations Technician - Data Centre on behalf of a leading organisation supporting the safe and reliable operation of a mission-critical data centre environment in Grange Castle.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced electrical professional to work within a highly technical environment where safety, reliability and operational continuity are critical.

12-hour rotating shift pattern | Grange Castle | Data Centre

What You'll Be Doing:

• Monitor and operate critical electrical systems to maintain continuous service
• Respond quickly to alarms, incidents and abnormal operating conditions
• Carry out electrical switching, isolations and routine operational checks
• Support safe systems of work, including permit-to-work procedures
• Carry out inspections of switchgear, distribution systems and backup power infrastructure
• Support planned preventative maintenance, testing and fault-finding on electrical systems
• Monitor UPS systems, generators and associated backup power equipment
• Liaise with third-party contractors and ensure compliance with site safety procedures
• Maintain accurate operational records and report on equipment performance
• Provide detailed shift handovers to ensure seamless operational continuity

What's Needed:

• Recognised Level 6 electrical trade qualification or equivalent
• Experience within a mission-critical, industrial, utilities or power generation environment
• Strong practical knowledge of electrical distribution systems
• Experience with electrical switching, isolations and safe working procedures
• Familiarity with UPS systems, generators and backup power infrastructure
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams and electrical schematics
• Confidence responding to faults, alarms and time-sensitive operational issues
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Good digital literacy and experience using electronic maintenance or monitoring systems
