Job summary

SRG is seeking an Electrical Shift Technician in Dublin to support the maintenance and operation of critical electrical plant in a large-scale energy facility. The role operates in a 24/7 environment, focusing on preventive and reactive maintenance, fault finding and rapid response to incidents.

Candidates will work with HV/LV systems, generators and switchgear, contributing to reliability improvements and ensuring safety and compliance with procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on critical electrical and utility plant
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities to minimise downtime
• Experience working in a 24/7, shift-based environment and on HV/LV systems

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on critical electrical and utility plant.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Support the operation of HV/LV systems, generators, switchgear and associated infrastructure.
• Participate in fault investigations and reliability improvement activities.
• Ensure all work complies with site safety and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to maximise plant availability.

Job description

I'm currently working with a leading operator within the energy and infrastructure sector who are looking to add an Electrical Shift Technician to their operations team in Dublin.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large-scale utility and energy facility, working on the maintenance, operation and reliability of critical electrical plant within a 24/7 environment.

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on critical electrical and utility plant
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults to minimise downtime
• Support the operation of HV/LV systems, generators, switchgear and associated infrastructure
• Participate in fault investigations, root cause analysis and reliability improvement activities
• Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety and operational procedures
• Work closely with operations and engineering teams to maximise plant availability
• Previous experience in a power generation, utilities, critical facilities, industrial, marine or similar environment
• Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience carrying out planned and preventative maintenance activities
• Ability to work effectively within a shift-based operational environment
• Knowledge of generators, electrical distribution systems, switchgear or utility plant would be advantageous
