Job summary

SSA Group is seeking an Electrical Construction Manager for a Dublin data centre project. You will support the PM, supervise on-site personnel, and lead safety and quality on a Tier 1 M&E contractor site in West Dublin.

Responsibilities include coordinating labour, managing subcontractors, ensuring materials meet specs, and driving project handover. A strong track record in electrical contracting and data centre builds is essential.

Qualifications

• Trade or Degree in electrical discipline.
• At least 5 years in a construction management role.
• Experience on data centre construction projects is essential.
• Strong people management and subcontractor management on site.
• Solid knowledge of design and construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager to manage and supervise personnel on site.
• Lead by example and enforce safety and quality standards on site.
• Lead on-site with regard to work and follow the site safety plan and rules.
• Ensure employees have required training and expertise for safe and professional work.
• Manage labour and plan resources ahead of time and coordinate subcontractor labour hours.
• Oversee subcontractor activities and track progress against schedule.
• Maintain regular communication with subcontractors to address performance issues.
• Monitor performance of supervision and other personnel; report incidents.
• Ensure materials match project specifications prior to installation.
• Implement the project quality plan and close out snag lists promptly.
• Assist in handover to client and close out project items with the PM.
• Ensure works align with project scope; approve any variations with PM.

SSA are working with a Tier 1 M&E Contractor seeking an Electrical Construction Manager for their Data Centre project in South Dublin.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Support the Project Manager to manage and supervise personnel on site.
• Leads by example - sets, monitors, and enforces the standards of safety, and exemplary quality of work.
• Assume a leadership on site with regard to the work being carried out and by following & implementing the site safety plan & rules.
• Ensure that employees have the relevant training and expertise to carry out their work safely and professionally.
• Manage the labour resources on site to ensure efficiency, plan labour and material resources ahead of time, and manage subcontractor labour hours.
• Management of subcontractor activities including tracking progress against schedule.
• Ensure regular communication with subcontractors ensuring performance issues are addressed and working relationships are maintained.
• Maintain performance management of supervision and other personnel under your remit, report any incidents and take action as appropriate.
• Ensuring materials are checked and match the project specification prior to installation on site.
• Implementation of the project quality plan, with all snag lists closed out in a timely fashion.
• Involvement in project hand over to client, support close out of project items in conjunction with the project manager.
• Ensuring works are completed as per project scope, with any additional works or changes requested are approved by the Project Manager

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Trade or Degree qualified in an electrical discipline.
• Proven track record in the electrical contracting space, with at least 5 years in a construction management position
• Previous experience in data centre construction projects is essential
• Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate your team, as well as management of subcontractors on site.
