Job summary

PE Global (UK) is seeking an Electrical Construction Manager to lead on a major data centre development in Dublin. You will own electrical construction delivery on site, coordinating with engineering, design, commissioning and commercial teams to ensure programme, quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering, 7+ years in electrical construction, and proven experience managing subcontractors on large projects, with data centre experience highly

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7+ years' experience in electrical construction, progressively into site management.
• Proven track record delivering electrical packages on large-scale construction projects.
• Excellent understanding of electrical installation, construction sequencing and commissioning.
• Experience managing electrical subcontractors and on-site teams.
• Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or mission-critical project experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee electrical construction activities throughout the project lifecycle on site.
• Lead day-to-day electrical site operations and coordinate with the broader project team.
• Manage electrical subcontractors, including progress, manpower, productivity and programme.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are implemented and maintained per project specs.
• Coordinate construction activities with Project Managers, Planners, Engineering, Design and Commissioning teams.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals and construction information.
• Identify and resolve technical, design and coordination issues before they impact programme.
• Attend and lead site, engineering, planning, coordination and handover meetings.
• Ensure subcontractor safety and project documentation is maintained and up to date.

Electrical Construction Manager – Data Centre

About the Role

Our client is a leading European contractor specialising in the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical projects across Ireland and Europe.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to join the team on a major data centre development in Dublin.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the delivery of electrical construction activities on site, working closely with the wider project, engineering, commercial, design and commissioning teams. This is a key site-based position with responsibility for subcontractor management, programme delivery, quality, safety and electrical handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee electrical construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead day-to-day electrical site operations and coordinate with the wider project team.
• Manage electrical subcontractors, including progress, manpower, productivity and programme.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are implemented and maintained in accordance with project specifications.
• Coordinate construction activities with Project Managers, Planners, Engineering, Design and Commissioning teams.
• Review drawings, specifications, technical submittals and construction information.
• Identify and resolve technical, design and coordination issues before they impact programme.
• Attend and lead site, engineering, planning, coordination and handover meetings.
• Ensure subcontractor safety and project documentation is maintained and up to date.
• Drive a strong health and safety culture across electrical construction activities.
• Monitor project progress against programme and report to senior management.
• Support the commercial team with variations, cost tracking and subcontractor matters.
• Manage electrical snagging, close-out and handover activities.
• Ensure electrical installations are completed safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years’ experience within electrical construction, ideally progressing into site management.
• Strong experience delivering electrical packages on large-scale construction projects.
• Excellent understanding of electrical installation, construction sequencing and commissioning.
• Proven experience managing electrical subcontractors and site teams.
• Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or other mission-critical project experience would be highly advantageous.
