Job summary

Sofina Foods Europe is seeking an Electrical Bias Engineer to sustain and enhance electrical and automation systems in our Irish manufacturing site. You will work with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime and support continuous improvement projects across the site.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 10am-6pm. You will maintain motors, drives, sensors, switchgear, control panels, and power distribution while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification and/or Electrical Engineering degree.
• Minimum 3 years in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Skilled in fault finding and diagnostics.
• Able to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Familiar with CMMS and preventative maintenance.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment.
• Knowledge of automation, drives and control systems.
• Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG is advantageous.

Role Overview

As an Electrical Bias Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the electrical and automation systems that keep our manufacturing operation running efficiently. This is an opportunity to make a real impact by reducing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting continuous improvement projects across the site. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you'll help deliver safe, efficient, and high-performing operations.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 10am - 6pm.

Key Duties

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise production downtime
• Maintain motors, drives, sensors, switchgear, control panels and power distribution systems
• Support and troubleshoot PLC-controlled production equipment
• Assist with control system upgrades and new equipment installations
• Contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
• Help deliver reliability, efficiency and energy-saving projects
• Ensure all work complies with safety, food safety and quality standards

Ideal Candidate

• A qualified electrician or hold an Electrical Engineering qualification
• Experienced in an industrial or manufacturing environment (minimum 3 years preferred)
• Skilled in electrical fault finding and diagnostics
• Confident reading electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Familiar with preventative maintenance systems and CMMS software
• Experienced working with PLC-controlled equipment
• Knowledgeable in automation, drives and control systems
• Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG environments would be advantageous
