Job summary

ESB is seeking an Apprentice Supervisor to lead apprenticeship programmes in the Southern Regions. You will supervise apprentices, coordinate on-job and off-job training, and liaise with SOLAS and ESB teams to ensure high standards of technical competence and safety.

You will drive delivery of the apprenticeship strategy, manage performance and development, and support recruitment, streaming and 4th year processes within a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

• High level of technical competence in construction, maintenance and operations of networks assets.
• Quality approach to data management.
• Flexible approach to deliver excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of ESB’s Corporate IT systems.
• Ability to work to tight delivery timeframes and busy schedules.
• Good attention to detail.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage apprentices to ensure completion of SOLAS on-job and off-job phases and training at the Networks Training Centre.
• Engage with Technical Training & Development teams to deliver the apprentice programme.
• Engage with business line supervisors and apprentices to ensure compliance with the Apprentice Supervision Policy.
• Monitor & promote apprentice safety through onsite behavioural assessment audits.
• Work with the Technical Competence Specialist team to promote apprentice learning.
• Provide leadership to ensure apprentices acquire knowledge of ESB Networks plant, equipment and procedures.
• Manage competence levels to ensure apprentices complete technical projects and progress through all apprenticeship stages.
• Manage apprentice performance including grievance & disciplinary issues.
• Liaise with SOLAS regarding scheduling, progress, attendance & payments.
• Engage with stakeholders to implement apprentice recruitment, streaming and 4th year recruitment processes.
• Manage induction, rotation, attendance, expenses, payroll, PPE and tools for apprentices.
