Job summary

Qualifications

Role Overview

Occupli is currently seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Planner to support an embedded contract assignment within a large-scale industrial operating environment.


This role will provide additional planning support to an established maintenance and engineering function, helping ensure effective preparation, coordination and delivery of E&I maintenance activities.


The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance, engineering, operations and contractor teams to develop high-quality work plans, improve work readiness and support safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop detailed E&I maintenance work plans, including job scope, labour requirements, materials, tools and specialist requirements.

  • Support the planning and scheduling of preventive, corrective and shutdown-related maintenance activities.

  • Review work requests and translate requirements into executable maintenance plans.

  • Coordinate with Electrical, Instrumentation, Maintenance and Operations teams to ensure work readiness.

  • Identify required permits, isolations, safety documentation and supporting information prior to execution.

  • Maintain accurate planning data within maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Support backlog management, prioritisation and optimisation of maintenance activities.

  • Liaise with contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of planned works.

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintenance effectiveness and reliability.

  • Ensure all work planning activities align with site safety standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.


Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:



  • Proven experience as an E&I Planner, Maintenance Planner, Electrical Planner or Instrumentation Planner within an industrial environment.

  • Experience working within Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Energy, Utilities or Process Manufacturing environments.

  • Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities.

  • Experience developing maintenance job plans and work packs.

  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP PM experience advantageous).

  • Ability to interpret technical documentation including P&IDs, electrical drawings and instrumentation documentation.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and operations teams.

  • Previous refinery or high-hazard process industry experience.

  • Experience supporting turnaround/shutdown planning activities.

  • Knowledge of permit-to-work, isolation processes and maintenance safety systems.

  • Experience working in regulated industrial environments.
