Job summary

Apleona is seeking an ambitious EHS Specialist to join the Environmental, Health & Safety team, supporting a leading biopharmaceutical client. The role covers two client sites, with travel to Shannon, Ireland; base in Dublin 15.

You will develop and manage EHS programmes, ensuring safe operations and compliance across teams and subcontractors. You will lead incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, deliver training, and drive EHS KPIs while collaborating with a wider network of EHS

Qualifications

• Degree, diploma or qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Approximately 3+ years' experience in an EHS role.

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead EHS representative for Apleona operations at two client sites.
• Promote a strong safety culture across Apleona teams and contracted service providers.
• Implement and maintain EHS programmes in alignment with Apleona standards and Irish legislation.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Lead and support contractor management programmes including onboarding and KPI verification.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Monitor and drive client EHS KPI metrics.
• Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives.
• Monitor EHS performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership.
• Facilitate regulatory inspections, client audits and internal assurance activities.
• Partner with operational teams for continuous EHS improvement.

Apleona is seeking an ambitious and motivated Facilities EHS Specialist to join our Environmental, Health & Safety team supporting our client, one of the world's leading biopharmaceutical companies.

Location: Dublin 15 (Primary Base)

Travel: Approximately one visit per month to Shannon, Co. Clare

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30 | Friday 08:00-15:30

About the Role:

This role is responsible for managing facilities EHS programmes across two client sites, ensuring that Apleona employees, our subcontractors and service partners operate safely and in full compliance with both Apleona and client requirements. Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as the lead EHS representative for Apleona operations at two client sites.
• Promote a strong safety culture across Apleona teams and contracted service providers.
• Implement and maintain EHS programmes in alignment with Apleona standards, BMS requirements and relevant Irish legislation.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Lead and support contractor management programmes including onboarding, performance monitoring and compliance verification.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Monitor and drive client EHS KPI metrics.
• Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives.
• Monitor EHS performance metrics and prepare reports for site and account leadership.
• Facilitate regulatory inspections, client audits and internal assurance activities.
• Partner with operational teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Requirements

• Degree, diploma or recognised qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Approximately 3+ years' experience in an EHS role.
• Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation and risk management principles.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, inspections and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently across multiple locations.
• Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to Shannon as required.
• Experience working within a pharmaceutical, life sciences or regulated industry environment and Exposure to GMP environments.
• Contractor management experience and KPI management experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 9001 management systems.
• Experience using EHS reporting and incident management systems.
