Job summary

Suir Engineering in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland, is seeking an EHS Advisor to join its Semi Conductor sector. The role requires a Health and Safety qualification with at least 2 years’ experience and involves supporting project teams on site.

You will develop site-specific EHS plans, manage risk, and promote a safe working environment across European projects in Sweden, Denmark or Germany.

Qualifications

• Relevant Health and Safety Diploma / Degree and minimum of 2 years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
• Ability to influence colleagues at all levels and work in a high performing team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the EHS Manager in achieving compliance with health, safety and workplace legislation.
• Work with Project Manager and Construction Team on Integrated Management System implementation.
• Ensure site is set up with a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan.
• Become SME in Suir’s High Risk Activities and ensure control on site.
• Assist with risk assessments, method statements and SOP development.
• Provide training and communication to site personnel.
• Promote the Suir Way and safety interfaces.
• Report and investigate incidents, identifying root causes and mitigations.

We have an exciting opportunity for an EHS Advisor to join Suir Engineering. This position is within our Semi Conductor sector and will be based in Leixlip, Kildare.

What you will be doing?

• Assist the EHS Manager in achieving Suir’s Critical Success Factor 1. ‘To ensure we are fully compliant in all Health, Safety & Workplace Legislation’
• Work effectively with the Project Manager and Construction Team with the implementation of the Integrated Management System
• Ensure the site is adequately set up with a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan.
• Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all of Suir’s Hight Risk Activities (HRA’s) and ensure that they are identified and effectively controlled on site.
• Assist with the development of Risk Assessment & Method Statements
• Assist with the development of SOP’s and provide training and communication to site personnel.
• Become familiar with and promote the ‘Suir Way’ and its interfaces with Health & Safety.
• Report and Investigate incidents when they occur and ensure root causes are identified, mitigated and communicated.

• Suitable Candidates must have Relevant Health and Safety Diploma / Degree and Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety role.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload according to deadlines together with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
• Enjoy working as part of a high performing team.
• Experience within EP&R environments is desired but not a must.
• Valid full drivers license & vehicle.
