Job summary

Suir Engineering is seeking an EHS Advisor to join their Leixlip, Co. Kildare team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on health, safety and environmental compliance across projects in Ireland and Europe, with opportunities for international assignments.

You will support the EHS Manager, develop site plans and HMIs, and act as SME for high risk activities, while promoting best safety practices and delivering training to site personnel.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Health and Safety Diploma or Degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years in Environmental Health and Safety role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Valid full driving license and vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the EHS Manager in achieving compliance with health, safety and workplace legislation.
  • Work with Project Manager and Construction Team to implement the Integrated Management System.
  • Set up site with a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan.
  • Act as SME for High Risk Activities and ensure proper controls on site.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, method statements and SOP development.
  • Provide training and communicate safety practices to site personnel.
  • Promote the Suir Way and its interfaces with HSE.
  • Report and investigate incidents, identify root causes and mitigations.

We have an exciting opportunity for an EHS Advisor to join Suir Engineering. This position is within our Semi Conductor sector and will be based in Leixlip, Kildare.

We are currently expanding significantly, and are delivering large scale projects across Ireland, the U.K, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.

What you will be doing?
  • Assist the EHS Manager in achieving Suir’s Critical Success Factor 1. ‘To ensure we are fully compliant in all Health, Safety & Workplace Legislation’
  • Work effectively with the Project Manager and Construction Team with the implementation of the Integrated Management System
  • Ensure the site is adequately set up with a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all of Suir’s Hight Risk Activities (HRA’s) and ensure that they are identified and effectively controlled on site.
  • Assist with the development of Risk Assessment & Method Statements
  • Assist with the development of SOP’s and provide training and communication to site personnel.
  • Become familiar with and promote the ‘Suir Way’ and its interfaces with Health & Safety.
  • Report and Investigate incidents when they occur and ensure root causes are identified, mitigated and communicated.
Is this the job for me?
  • Suitable Candidates must have Relevant Health and Safety Diploma / Degree and Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload according to deadlines together with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
  • Enjoy working as part of a high performing team.
  • Experience within EP&R environments is desired but not a must.
  • Valid full drivers license & vehicle.
