Job summary

Suir Engineering in Ashbourne, Co. Meath, Ireland, is seeking an EHS Advisor to join a Substation Project on site.

The role supports Health and Safety compliance and collaborates with the Project Manager and Construction Team to implement the Integrated Management System. The ideal candidate holds a relevant Health and Safety Diploma or Degree and at least 1 year of EHS experience, with strong communication and a proactive approach to risk assessment, safety audits, and training.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Health and Safety Diploma / Degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in Environmental Health and Safety role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Health & Safety advisor in ensuring Health & Safety compliance on site.
  • Work with Project Manager and Construction Team to implement the Integrated Management System.
  • Ensure the site is set up and a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan is complete.
  • Assist with site Safety Audits and complete a report.
  • Assist with the development of Risk Assessments & Method Statements.
  • Assist with SOP development and training/communication to site personnel.
  • Communicate Safety Alerts through Toolbox Talks on a schedule.
  • Promote the Suir Way and its interfaces with Health & Safety.
  • Report and investigate incidents, identifying root causes and mitigations.
  • Ensure statutory forms and inspections are complete and recorded timely.
  • Promote a good safety culture on site.

We have an exciting opportunity for a EHS Advisor to join Suir Engineering and work on a Substation Project close to Ashbourne, Co. Meath, c onstruction of a 110 kV substation and grid connection for a Solar Farm project.

What you will be doing?

  • Support the Senior Health & Safety advisor in ensuring Health & Safety compliance on site
  • Work effectively with the Project Manager and Construction Team with the implementation of the Integrated Management System
  • Ensure the site is adequately set up and a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan is complete.
  • Assist with site Safety Audits and complete a report on same
  • Assist with the development of Risk Assessment & Method Statements
  • Assist with the development of SOP’s and provide training and communication to site personnel.
  • Communicate Safety Alerts through Toolbox Talk on a scheduled basis.
  • Become familiar with and promote the ‘Suir Way’ and its interfaces with Health & Safety.
  • Report and Investigate incidents when they occur and ensure root causes are identified, mitigated, and communicated.
  • Ensure statutory forms and inspections are complete and recorded in a timely fashion.
  • Promoting a good safety culture on site

  • Suitable Candidates must have Relevant Health and Safety Diploma / Degree and Minimum of 1 years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety role.
