Job summary

Designer Group is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor to join its Safety department on a site-based basis in Ireland. The role demands conducting audits, driving safety training, investigating incidents, and ensuring contractor compliance across projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in construction HSE, holds a QQI L7 Health & Safety qualification, and possesses English fluency, a valid driving licence, and First Aid certification.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years health and safety experience in construction (electrical/mechanical preferred).
  • Qualified in Health & Safety at third level (QQI L7 or equivalent).
  • Fluent in English.
  • First Aid Responder certification.
  • Full, clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site audits/inspections to ensure H&S compliance.
  • Assist with accident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Assess potential new contractors before they commence work.
  • Deliver H&S orientation and training for site personnel.
  • Review RAMS and Safe Work Plans; maintain EHS docs.
  • Provide on-site EHS guidance to personnel and clients.

Designer Group is seeking to recruit a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor to join its growing Safety department.

Overview of duties
  • Conducting regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
  • Assist with carrying out accident, incident investigations and root cause analysis studies.
  • Assist in auditing and assessing potential new contractors before they commence work.
  • Continue to develop the company's Behavioural Safety Policies and carry out training as required.
  • Supervise and manage EHS documentation to support the Company's integrated safety management system.
  • Delivering Health & Safety orientation programmes for personnel working on site.
  • Prepare and deliver training courses, including training assessments.
  • Representation at site EHS meetings.
  • Reviewing the SWPs (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on site.
  • Compiling and reviewing RAMS.
  • Provide EHS advice and direction to relevant personnel on-site as required.
  • Collecting and collating relevant information for handover to the Client at the end of the project.
  • Tracking and compiling of weekly KPIs and issue to SMT.
  • At least 3 years' health and safety experience gained in construction, preferably electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Hold a recognised third-level qualification (of at least QQI L7 Equivalent) in Health & Safety
  • Fluent in English.
  • First Aid Responder
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Flexibility in line with business requirements
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner at all times
Desired Skills:
  • Mental Health First Aider
  • Membership of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
  • Competent in the use of online induction software and mobile devices to complete audits/inspections.
  • Working within a generative culture, liaising with Client/PSDP/PSCS.
  • Working in a highly regulated environment.
