Job summary

MCS Group is partnering with an ambitious Irish technology company to hire an Edge Software & Platform Engineer in Dublin. This permanent, fully remote role focuses on building edge computing infrastructure, enabling secure and reliable operation of enterprise software across distributed environments.

You’ll work in a small, experienced team on deployment automation, Linux systems management, and collaboration with cloud and software engineers to shape a new platform capability.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems and infrastructure.
• Good Python development and scripting.
• Experience with Terraform or IaC tools.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS or Azure.
• Solid understanding of networking and infrastructure security.
• Experience deploying, configuring and maintaining software services.
• Familiarity with Bash, shell scripting and automation.
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools such as Prometheus or Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure and maintain Linux-based infrastructure for edge computing environments.
• Develop and automate deployment processes using Python, Terraform and related tooling.
• Work with existing software services to support deployment across distributed environments.
• Design and configure secure networking and infrastructure services.
• Ensure systems are reliable, secure and enterprise-ready.
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cloud and software engineers on design and infrastructure decisions.
• Take ownership of technical challenges from development to deployment.
