Job summary

Cocoon Childcare Limited is seeking an Early Year’s Educator in Ireland to support a nurturing learning environment. The role involves strong teamwork, clear communication with staff and parents, and delivering a development-focused weekly curriculum for children in our centre.

You will engage with children following Aistear and Síolta guidelines, maintain records, and participate in ongoing professional development to support overall child development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care & Education.
  • Knowledge of Aistear and Síolta frameworks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job Description

Job Title: Early Year’s Educator

Employer: Cocoon Childcare Limited

Weekly Hours: 40 hrs

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a good level of communication with all educators,including the management team of the centre.
  • Ensure that you respect the rights of the children in yourcare & their parents.
  • Ensure that you engage in respectful interactions with thechildren & support their learning & development.
  • Work as part of a team, fostering good workingrelationships with your colleagues.
  • Attend all relevant training when required.
  • Attend team meetings, contributing in a positive &constructive way.
  • Work with management to organise room movement information& inform parents of room moves.
  • Ensure children’s engagement in activities, using allequipment at your disposal. Allow the children the opportunity to be active participants intheir learning, by speaking to them, valuing their opinions & working with them todevelop activities which ignite their curiosity. For non-verbal children, you should observetheir play & discuss their interests with their parents.
  • Ensure all relevant forms are completed, in accordancewith the policies & procedures of the company.
  • Deal with all queries from parents, consulting with themanagement team.
  • Ensure that the environment is child led & childfocused.
  • Conduct general cleaning duties of the unit & branchwhen requested.
  • Be willing to work in other parts of the branch whenrequired.
  • Maintain child registers on a daily basis, ensuring thatyou sign in/out daily, as per Tusla regulations.
  • Plan & implement a weekly curriculum.
  • Revise room layouts regularly, ensuring that they are laidout around a structured environment, as per preschool regulations.
  • Ensure that you are physically able to meet the needs& responsibilities of your role.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activitiesin line with Aistear and Síolta frameworks
Requirements
  • Minimum QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care & Education(Level 6 or higher preferred)
  • Knowledge of Aistear, Síolta, and child development bestpractices
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
