Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Design Engineer (Oil & Gas) for an assignment located in East Cork. This 12-month contract offers one day of remote work and four days on site.

Electrical or Instrumentation only will also be considered, with duties spanning design, life cycle support, and coordination of E&I installations across capital projects. Proactive safety and cost control are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer with design experience within refining or a similar industry.
• Experience in developing electrical/Instrumentation data sheets is essential.
• Additional qualification or experience in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering, Functional Safety, ATEX, or related experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Generate detailed scope of work packages for electrical and automation contractors for tender/procurement process, applying value engineering where possible.
• Define the electrical requirements for capital projects and interact with internal & external stakeholders, vendors, and contractors for tender negotiation, cost estimates, constructability, and safety reviews.
• Input into Project Management regarding the electrical discipline within projects including cost estimates, planning, and schedule reporting.
• Responsible for providing the electrical technical information to procurement for new and replacement equipment.
• Generation of single line diagrams, equipment index, cable block diagrams, and wiring drawings (AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of ATEX and Hazardous Area compliance within electrical designs.
• Assist with the coordination of the electrical installation and instrumentation (E&I) contractors during construction and commissioning activities where applicable.
• Ability to manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity.

Arcadis are seeking an E&I Design Engineer (Oil & Gas) for an assignment located in East Cork. This is initially a 12 month contract, with high potential for extension. One day working from home, four days on site.

Electrical or Instrumentation only will also be considered.

This role will involve design and life cycle of all Electrical/instrumentation installations and equipment in support of Capital Projects, Technical, Maintenance, Operations and HSE. The E&I Design Engineer is to provide technical design with focus on safety, schedule, and cost management adherence, while complying with good engineering practices, company policies, and all applicable regulations and codes of practice.
