Job summary

Arcadis in Dublin (Citywest) is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for a permanent role. You will support delivery across industrial and pharmaceutical sectors, designing electrical power, instrumentation, and building services.

Under supervision of a Chartered Engineer, you’ll develop drawings, calculations and specifications for site projects. The role emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and the ambition to pursue Chartered Engineer status within a progressive design consultancy.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified electrical engineer with practical design experience.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop single line and protection diagrams for electrical power distribution.
• Prepare specifications for electrical equipment including generators, MCCs, transformers and instrumentation.
• Create interconnection block diagrams for power and control cables.
• Perform design calculations: cable sizing, short circuit, lighting, power balance.
• Review electrical layouts and MTO; prepare instrument schematics and loop drawings.

Electrical Design Engineer required for our Dublin Office (Citywest) on a permanent basis.

Position Summary:

• The position of Electrical Engineer would suit a motivated, practical and adaptable individual who has the ambition to gain Chartered Engineer status and wishes to work in a progressive and innovative design consultancy.
• Working under the direct supervision of a Chartered Engineer, the post holder will support the delivery of a range of projects across industrial and pharmaceutical sectors. The design work will include electrical power, instrumentation and building services across a range of pharmaceutical and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & develop single line, schematic diagrams and protection scheme for site electrical power distribution equipment and systems.
• Prepare specifications & scope of work for electrical equipment such as power generators, MCC, transformers, instrumentation, data systems and building services etc.
• Prepare electrical power and control cables interconnection block diagrams.
• Carry out design calculations for cable-sizing, short circuit calculations, lighting calculations, power balance studying etc.
• Review of electrical layout drawings and MTO.
• Prepares sketches and performs engineering calculations.
• Preparation of instrument schematics, loop drawings, and layout drawings.
• Selection, specification and design of process instrumentation and safety instrumented systems

Education & Experience:

• Degree Qualified Electrical Engineering.
• Team player, adaptable & practical.
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work well on own initiative.
