Job summary

The Moriarty Group is recruiting a Duty Manager for Moriarty’s Super Valu in Palmerstown, Dublin 20. This full-time position runs an average of 45 hours per week across 5 days, including weekends and public holidays.

You will join the store’s management team to lead a busy team and uphold high standards of operation. Successful candidates will have at least 2 years’ trainee/assistant management experience in a supermarket, HACCP training, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Trainee Manager in a busy supermarket.
• Experience on the GOLD System is desirable but not essential.
• HACCP trained and compliant with food safety standards.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the store’s management team.
• Assist the Store Senior Managers in day-to-day running of the busy store.
• Manage a team of up to 40 staff on duty (90-100 total across shifts).
• Stock ordering and control.
• Ensure daily readiness and maintain required standards across all departments.

Duty Manager Opportunity at Moriarty’s Super Valu, Palmerstown, Co. Dublin.

The Moriarty Group is an Irish owned company involved in both the Retail Grocery and Hospitality Industries. The company’s portfolio currently comprises of three large Super Valu Supermarkets in Balbriggan and Skerries in North County Dublin and Palmerstown, Dublin 20. The company also owns two 4* Hotels, the Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan, North County Dublin, and the Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, Co. Kildare. The company currently employee’s approximately 550 people.

The Moriarty Group of Super Valu's are 3 of the largest Super Valu stores in the Dublin area. We are currently seeking to recruit a Duty Manager to join the management team in our Palmerstown Store.

The Role:

This is a full-time position working an average of 45 hours per week, 5 days over 7 to include weekends and public holidays.

Main Duties:

• Work as part of the store’s management team.
• Assist the Store’s Senior Manager’s in the day to day running of our busy store.
• Manage a team of up to 40 staff when on duty (90-100 staff in total).
• Stock ordering and control.
• Ensuring that the store is ready for business on a daily basis to the required standards.
• Ensuring the highest quality product is displayed at all times in all departments.
• Providing a high level of customer service at all times.
• Staff Training.
• Security Awareness.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a trainee manager within a busy supermarket - this experience is essential.
• Previous experience within a Super Valu/Centra store is desirable as you will have gained experience on the GOLD System, however, this is not essential.
• HACCP trained.
• Be fluent in the English Language both written and spoken.
• An excellent knowledge of the retail grocery industry and current trends therein.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Previous experience of staff training & development.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Excellent security awareness.
• Be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
• Must be fluent in the English both spoken and written.
• Must be available for early starts and late finishes.
