Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Cluster to Cluster (C2C) Services team, building the data-movement and disaster-recovery tooling that moves data between MongoDB clusters in cloud and on-prem environments.

You'll solve distributed-systems challenges, ship scalable backend services, and collaborate with product, design, and engineers across the organization while mentoring teammates for growth and quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, primarily backend systems.
• Experience with distributed backend systems and APIs/services in a microservice environment.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency with compiled languages (Java, C#, Go, C++ etc).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and support data-movement and disaster-recovery features for C2C services.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to deliver scalable backend features.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to production‑quality fixes and documentation.
• Solve challenging problems in distributed systems, reliability, and operability.
