Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Software Engineer for the Cluster to Cluster (C2C) Services team in Ireland. The role focuses on building data movement and disaster recovery features for MongoDB Atlas and on-prem customers, with opportunities to mentor teammates and influence system design.

The position can be based in Dublin or remote within Ireland, offering exposure to distributed systems, microservices and cross-functional collaboration in a global data platform company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, primarily focused on backend systems.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and experience designing APIs and services in a microservice environment.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience in data streaming or replication, database systems, scalability, performance, reliability, or fault tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Build Atlas Migration Services and tooling, including data movement and disaster recovery features.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineers across the organization to deliver features.
• Uphold engineering best practices and drive a culture of quality and learning.
• Mentor and contribute to the growth of team members.
• Solve difficult technical problems in a distributed environment.
