European Investment Bank (EIB) is recruiting for its Projects Directorate (PJ) - Housing, Cities and Regions Department (HCR) - Regional Development Division (REGDEV) in Luxembourg for an Associate Sector Specialist in Disaster Risk Management and Regional Development.

The role focuses on due diligence of DRR and regional development projects, assessing technical, economic and policy relevance, and supporting robust investment decisions in line with the EU Climate Bank mandate.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant field; Masters preferred.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in disaster risk management or regional development.
• Strong understanding of disaster risk management cycle including prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.
• Experience with international financial institutions is an advantage.
• Fluent English with good French language skills.

Responsabilités

• Identify and screen viability of investments in EU member states and other countries, focusing on disaster risk management.
• Coordinate and contribute to the Disaster Risk Management Action Plan with the Core Team.
• Develop and update internal guidance, sector studies and policy papers on DRR and regional development.
• Maintain datasets and statistics for DRR and regional development operations.
• Collaborate with external partners such as the European Commission and UN agencies.
• Support senior colleagues and the Head of Division with cross‑cutting tasks across DRR and regional development.
