Vertiv seeks a Director, Power Train Technical Business Development to lead pre‑sales technical engagement across hyperscale, neo‑cloud, and MTDC customers. You will steer power architecture design from utility to rack, collaborating with senior leaders to advance Vertiv’s basis of design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or related discipline; MBA/MS preferred.
• 10+ years in technical business development, power systems engineering, or pre‑sales leadership; senior-level experience.
• Expertise in data center power infrastructure: UPS, distribution, energy storage architectures.
• Proven track record translating power strategies into revenue growth and market impact.
• Deep hands‑on understanding of UPS, switchgear, PDUs, busway, STS, BESS, and power monitoring/controls.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and influencing senior executives.
• Active presence in industry forums/standards bodies (IEEE, NFPA, Uptime Institute).
• Ability to engage at the C‑suite level and articulate a compelling vision.
• Willingness to travel extensively to strategic customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical engagement with identified and emerging GSA customers to influence power architectures.
• Collaborate with strategic customers to design power strategies addressing capacity, density, and reliability.
• Whiteboard system-level power architectures with CTOs and leadership, detailing trade-offs between AC/DC topologies.
• Drive early engagement in design cycles to shape power requirements before RFPs.
