Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Presales Electrical Engineer to join an interdisciplinary team focused on data center electrical power systems for hyperscale, enterprise, and edge facilities. You will design with traditional and AI considerations, coordinate across engineering disciplines, and interpret RFPs to deliver scalable data center architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years experience.
• Proficient in Electrical power system design.
• Sizing and specification of electrical equipment and installations.
• Knowledge of electrical load calculations, short circuit and protection coordination study calculations and modeling tools.
• Solid communication skills, both written and oral, to work across multiple Engineering and Manufacturing teams to bring architectures and concepts to deployment.
• PC skills: Windows, MS Office incl Excel, Word, AutoCAD.
• Active English.

Responsibilities

• Concept design of Data center electrical power systems and architecture, with traditional and AI design requirements.
• LV power distribution (low voltage switchgear, uninterruptible power supply systems, busbar systems).
• MV power distribution systems (medium voltage switchgear and transformers).
• Auxiliary systems (AC, DC), lightning protection systems, diesel gensets.
• Electrical load calculations, arc flash, short circuit and protection coordination study calculations and modeling tools.
• Electrical single-line diagrams.
• Understanding of relevant codes and standards for electrical power equipment and installations.
• Coordination with other technical disciplines (architectural, structural, HVAC, controls, fire protection).
• Reading and understanding RFP and tender documents.
• Problem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutions.
• Modular Data center technical solutions and quotations.
