Job summary

Cpl Healthcare is seeking an accomplished senior nursing leader to take on the role of Director of Nursing at an established Galway Nursing Home. This senior position offers the chance to shape clinical direction and ongoing development within a residential care service.

The successful candidate will combine clinical judgement with strong operational and people leadership to drive high standards and excellent resident outcomes in a 24-hour nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Previous Director of Nursing experience or equivalent.
• Min 3 years of management experience in the last 6 years in older person care.
• Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality assurance, risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and engage nursing and care teams.
• Excellent judgement, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A focus on quality and continuous improvement.
• Commitment to person-centred care and positive resident outcomes.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.

This is a significant leadership appointment offering the opportunity to shape the clinical direction and continued development of an established residential care service. This role requires a visible and influential leader who can combine excellent clinical judgement with strong operational and people leadership.

The home provides 24-hour nursing care across long-term residential, dementia, convalescence and palliative care. Its model of care is centred on delivering an exceptional quality of life for residents through person-centred care, compassion, dignity and respect.

As Director of Nursing, you will hold overall responsibility for the leadership and governance of nursing and care services, ensuring consistently high standards of clinical practice, resident experience and regulatory compliance, providing clear strategic and clinical direction while building a culture of accountability, professional excellence and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile
