Division Overview:

The Forensic Technology & Data Analytics Division (FTDA) provides specialist support to all divisions within the CCPC, with a particular focus on the Enforcement Divisions. The Division delivers expertise in Digital Forensics, eDiscovery, Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), and Data Analytics, enabling investigations through the collection, preservation, analysis, and interpretation of digital and data-driven evidence. This is a specialist FTDA role where all infrastructure work is driven by investigative requirements. The role is distinct from the central ICT function, however collaboration with ICT colleagues will occur where responsibilities overlap, such as provision of FTDA lab servers to the broader organisation.

They will be self-driven with experience of contributing effectively to the strategic direction of the unit. In addition, they will have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support day-to-day operation and monitoring of FTDA infrastructure systems.
  • Assist with the administration of virtualisation platforms (including Proxmox VE or equivalent).
  • Support the management of Windows and Linux servers, storage, backup and disaster recovery environments.
  • Maintain secure environments for sensitive and evidential data.
  • Support system updates, patching, and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor systems and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Support backup and recovery processes (e.g. Proxmox Backup Server).
  • Support cybersecurity monitoring and the implementation of controls.
  • Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
  • Contribute to FTDA infrastructure projects aligned with enforcement needs.
  • Assist in requirements gathering and the delivery of technical solutions.
  • Support procurement activities and vendor engagement.
  • Maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with FTDA, enforcement teams, and ICT where required.
Essential:

Candidates must demonstrate the following, including relevant experience in infrastructure support and virtualisation technologies:

  • 3 years relevant experience in an ICT, infrastructure, or systems administration role.
  • Experience working with virtualisation platforms (e.g. Proxmox VE, VMware, or equivalent).

  • Understanding of storage, backup, and disaster recovery principles.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and IT infrastructure concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver results and manage competing priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable:
  • Experience administering Proxmox VE environments, including clustering and backup.
  • Experience working in secure or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and controls.
  • Experience contributing to ICT or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Purview, including conducting Content Searches and exporting data for eDiscovery and forensic investigations.
