Job summary

Corlann is seeking a Digital and Accessible Technology Web Developer to design, build, and deploy Microsoft Power Platform solutions across the DAT service. You will work with stakeholders to co-design, develop, and maintain apps, automations and reporting to promote inclusion and independence.

The role focuses on accessible UI, data structures, and governance while delivering training and documentation. 5 days a week, Galway region.

Qualifications

• A qualification in Computer Science, IT, Software Development or Digital Media QQI Level 7+ or 3 years' relevant experience.
• Strong experience with Canvas Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
• Strong understanding of information architecture and relational data design.
• Excellent knowledge of WCAG standards and European Accessibility Act.
• Experience deploying Power Platform solutions across sites/organisations.
• Experience managing ALM, environments and deployments.
• Experience producing user guides and training materials.
• Fluent English; full driving licence for travel.

A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent temporary appointments within the Digital and Assistive Technology Project may be made over the next 6 months.

The Role:

The Digital and Accessible Technology (DAT) team supports people to use technology to increase communication, independence, participation and inclusion in everyday life.

This role focuses on the accessibility, design, development, and deployment of digital applications that support the work of the DAT Service across Corlann and partner organisations. Working within the Microsoft Power Platform and related technologies, the post holder will work closely with stakeholders to co-design, develop, and maintain applications, automations and reporting solutions that support the DAT Library and other core services.

Through collaboration, co-design and continuous improvement, the post holder will contribute to the development of technology solutions that promote choice, independence, participation and equal access to opportunities for people supported by Corlann.

DAT Officer and Speech and Language Therapy Manager.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

The successful candidate must have:

• A qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, or Digital Media QQI Level 7 or higher or a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
• Strong experience developing Canvas Apps, Power Automate flows and Power BI reports.
• Strong understanding of information architecture, data structures and relational data design.
• Excellent knowledge of WCAG standards and the European Accessibility Act.
• Proven experience implementing accessible user interfaces and universal design principles.
• Experience deploying and maintaining Power Platform solutions across multiple sites or organisations.
• Experience managing application lifecycle management (ALM), environments and solution deployment.
• Experience producing user guides, training materials and implementation documentation.
• Strong understanding of Power Platform security and governance.
• Experience delivering training and onboarding users to digital systems.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
• Candidates must possess a full, valid driver’s license, as occasional travel may be required to attend periodic in-person meetings or site visits.

Highly Desirable:

• Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Experience designing user interfaces for people with cognitive, communication and sensory support needs.
• Experience conducting accessibility testing using automated and manual testing methods.

Working Hours:

The normal working week will be 35 hours per week based on a 5 day Monday to Friday basis. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. over 7 days as future service needs require. Flexibility may be required in order to meet Service demands. The successful candidate must be available for on call situations that may arise from time to time. These times may be outside ‘normal’ operational times and must be approved by your manager.

The Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.

The Health Service is undergoing ongoing transformation and therefore it is critical that a flexible attitude to changing environments and work requirements is held by the successful candidate.

The annual leave attached to this post is 30 days per annum

Remuneration Salary Scale:

Department of Health Grade VI (Clerical) salary scale (01/06/2026) - € 58,477 to € 66,677 per annum.

After three years on the maximum point, a Long Service Increment applies bringing the annual salary to € 69,056 gross basic per annum. After a further three years another Long Service Increment applies bring the annual salary to the maximum of € 71,441 per annum.

The post is temporary, full-time and pensionable linked on a specific purpose basis to new funding.

Travel/Base:

The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from Insurers in favour of the employer. Travelling expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty. The position will be based in the Corlann West Region. Work and travel base in Galway or Roscommon will be agreed on appointment.

A probationary period from the date of appointment applies to the posts. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
