Job summary

Crosscare in Dublin is seeking a Social Policy and Communications Officer to drive policy development and public engagement related to the Irish diaspora. The role combines advocacy, research and communications to support vulnerable individuals and families.

The successful candidate will manage social policy and media activities, draft briefing papers and oversee digital content, while working in a hybrid, full-time office setting in Dublin 7.

Qualifications

• Degree in social sciences or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop policy initiatives relating to the Irish diaspora in submissions, policy papers and reports to promote public policy dialogue
• Conduct desk-based research and data analysis to develop an evidence base to support policy work and contribute to an enhanced understanding of the experiences and needs of Ireland’s diverse diaspora
• Represent the project and broader organisation in local, national, and international fora with relevant agencies, groups and individuals
• Track and monitor progress of the project’s policy and advocacy priorities, maintaining records (including lobbying records)
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of significant policy development within areas of key interest to the diaspora, including housing, homelessness, social protection, and diaspora supports
