Job summary

Arthur Mallon Foods, a leading Irish sausage manufacturer, is seeking a Despatch Operative to support accurate order picking, packing and despatch. The role includes flexible cover for Van Sales Drivers and ensuring orders are delivered safely and on time.

You will work closely with Production, Admin, Despatch and Quality teams in our state-of-the-art centre of excellence, upholding HACCP and Bord Bía standards while providing professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Full Irish or EU driving licence with relevant licence categories for van sales cover.
• Experience in despatch, food production, manufacturing or FMCG desirable.
• Forklift experience desirable; training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality and safety.
• Good communication and basic numeracy skills, with the ability to complete paperwork accurately and handle customer payments where required.
• Customer-focused, courteous and professional.
• Flexible, reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Pick, check, assemble and despatch customer orders accurately, ensuring products, paperwork and transport arrangements are correct.
• Coordinate with Production, Administration, Despatch and Quality teams on orders, shortages, invoices, temperatures and product concerns.
• Follow company policies, health and safety, HACCP, traceability and quality procedures.
• Use despatch equipment safely, support stock takes, waste disposal and daily clean-up activities.
• Provide flexible cover for Van Sales Drivers during busy periods, annual leave, absence or other operational requirements.
• Deliver Arthur Mallon Foods products safely and efficiently, ensuring orders are accurate and delivered on time.
• Stock and merchandise products in stores, provide professional customer service and identify sales opportunities.
• Complete delivery paperwork, maintain accurate records, handle payments where required and carry out vehicle checks.
• Report any food safety, quality, customer, vehicle, maintenance or health and safety concerns promptly and carry out other reasonable duties as required.

The role
