Job summary

Collen Construction is seeking an experienced Design Co-ordinator to support BIM-enabled design workflows on large-scale projects in Ireland. You will assist in coordinating Architects, Structural Engineers and Service Engineers while maintaining clarity between design and site execution.

The role requires strong BIM literacy (Revit, Navisworks) and experience with data centres, BEP/EIR and CDE platforms. You will work with the Design Manager and senior team to ensure timely, compliant design

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in a similar role.
• Experience on hyperscale data centres.
• Excellent IT and communication skills.
• BIM modelling: ability to navigate and use relevant programmes.

Responsibilities

• Support the Design process and coordinate between Architects, Structural Engineers and Service Engineers, who all work direct for Collen on the project and ensure communication back to site teams.
• Assist the Design Manager to ensure any Design development is communicated with Collen Contracts Management and QS from a financial aspect.
• Maintain commercial and contractual awareness.
• Coordinate and track submittals and approvals with Client Representative sign-off and BIM model alignment.
• Ensure approved submittals align with the BIM team's model and vice versa.
• Support the BIM team in design issues and ensure all coordination is carried out ahead of model freeze.
• Manage subcontractors and ensure works comply with the design intent and approved submittals.
• Support the development of look-ahead plans.
• Stay up to date with building regulations BCAR, TGD, environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Arrange and attend Site Meetings and take minutes, as required.
• Handle internal and external communication with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Track construction progress and ensure approvals and material lead times align with programme and sub-contractor start dates.
• Ensure all O&M handover documentation is issued and approved in line with the handover.
• Support the aftercare team with resolving design issues.
• Ensure compliance with LA requirements and building control sign-offs.
• Work with the quality team to ensure quality checks and benchmarks align with design requirements.
• Coordinate with the project document controller to manage document issues and support high-level issues.
• Demonstrate experience with digital construction and BEP, EIR, ISO 19650 and CDE requirements.
• Lead multidisciplinary model coordination, clash detection and constructability reviews.

Reporting to the Design Manager/Senior Contracts Manager, the responsibilities of the role will include, but may not be limited to:

• Support the Design process in providing a platform for good communication and coordination between Architects, Structural Engineers and Service Engineers, who all work direct for Collen on the project and ensure communication back to site teams
• Support the Design Manager to ensure any Design development is communicated with Collen Contracts Management and QS from a financial aspect
• Maintain commercial and contractual awareness
• Support the Coordination and track the submittal and approval process of Designs and materials ensuring Client Representative sign off and approvals
• Ensure approved submittals are aligned with the BIM teams model and vice versa
• Supporting the BIM team in design issues and ensuring all coordination is carried out ahead of model freeze
• Manage subcontractors and ensure works are in compliance with the design intent and approved submittals
• Support the development of look ahead plans
• Should have a good all-round knowledge of the construction industry and keep up to date across all disciplines including building regulations BCAR, TGD, environmental, health and Safety regulations
• Arrange and attend Site Meetings and take minutes, as required
• Handle internal and external communication with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
• Tracking construction progress and ensuring all approvals and material lead times align with agreed programme and sub-contractor start dates
• Ensuring all O&M’s and handover documentation is issued and approved in line with the agreed handover
• Support the aftercare team with closing out any design issues
• Ensuring compliance with the LA requirements and to ensure all relevant building control sign offs are achieved
• Work closely with the quality team, and ensure all quality checks and benchmarks are carried out and aligned with the design requirements
• Work closely with the project document controller ensuring the issue of relevant documentation is on track and to support the role in high level issues
• Strong Digital Construction experience; Ability to manage design information in accordance with the BEP, EIR, ISO 19650 and CDE requirements.
• Previous experience and thorough understanding of leading multidisciplinary model coordination, clash detection and constructability review activities.
• Capabilities with modelling and coordination tools such as Revit, Navisworks
• Skill to manage and coordinate digital information flow between project teams, designers, consultants and supply chain partners.
• Demonstrable use of CDEs such as Procore / ACC Forma
• Support and monitor coordination progress, report key issues, and drive timely resolution of information and design risks.
