Job summary

ICDS Group in Dublin is seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to lead the design coordination on a major landmark construction project. You will drive the design process from pre-construction through delivery and ensure timely, coordinated information across design teams, subcontractors and site colleagues.

The role requires reading and interpreting technical drawings, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple design packages while maintaining programme and quality controls.

Qualifications

• Degree or qualification in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Experience as Design Coordinator, Design Manager, Architectural Technologist or similar role.
• Experience on large-scale commercial, residential or mixed-use construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to delivery.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information to identify issues or clashes.
• Coordinate between design team, subcontractors, consultants and site teams.
• Ensure design information is issued and received in line with project requirements.
• Assist with resolution of technical and design-related queries.
• Attend design coordination meetings and contribute to project discussions.
• Monitor design changes and maintain documentation.
• Work with construction teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
• Support the project team in maintaining programme and quality requirements.
• Assist with management of RFIs, technical submissions and design deliverables.
• Ensure coordination of all design information ahead of construction activities.

We are currently seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to join the team delivering a major landmark construction project in Dublin.

The Role

As Design Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to delivery, ensuring that design information is effectively managed, coordinated and delivered in line with the programme.

The Ideal Candidate

• Degree or qualification in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a Design Coordinator, Design Manager, Architectural Technologist or similar role.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential or mixed-use construction projects.
• Strong understanding of the construction design and coordination process.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple design packages simultaneously.
• Proficient in relevant design and construction software.
• Ability to work effectively with consultants, subcontractors and site-based teams.
