Job summary

Dublin Dental University Hospital and School of Dental Science is hiring a Production Laboratory Administrator Grade IV to join the Dental Laboratory Department on a permanent on-site basis. The role focuses on logging and tracking dental lab cases, liaising with external labs and delivering high-quality support to staff and students.

The successful candidate will manage lab workflows, maintain records, generate monthly reports, and assist with ISO accreditation and lab committee activities.

Qualifications

• Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework (QQI).
• Strong administration skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team with internal/external stakeholders.
• Ability to problem solve and find solutions to challenges.
• Flexible and adaptable during the busy period Oct–Mar each year.
• Contribute to and work effectively as a member of a small team reporting to the Laboratory Manager.
• Excellent interpersonal communication with staff and students; proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Zoom).
• Demonstrate autonomy with competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Processing of all Laboratory work entering and leaving the Lab daily.
• Ensure that all laboratory prescription sheets are filled out correctly and check for non-compliances.
• Keep track of internal and external laboratory work to ensure timely returns.
• Liaise with external laboratories to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Produce monthly reports detailing workload and cost per department.
• Manage queries from staff and students and provide induction training at start of academic year.
• Maintain records including data for yearly ISO reports.
• Compile ISO accreditation reports and minutes for laboratory meetings.
• Provide general laboratory and office administration support as required.
• Attend team and other meetings as required.
