Job summary

The Berkley Group in Dublin is seeking a Demand Planner to own and improve forecasting processes, connecting commercial and operational functions. You will manage a third‑party planning tool, ensure reliable outputs for purchasers, and support S&OP activities to enhance stock availability.

The role requires 3+ years in demand planning and strong skills in forecasting, Power BI, Excel, and SQL‑based ERP systems.

Qualifications

  • Relevant third level qualification; preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in demand planning and S&OP input.
  • Proficiency in forecasting tools and forecasting methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience working with SQL based ERP systems.
  • Proactive attitude and strong communication skills, comfortable collaborating with senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Detail-oriented with a structured, process-driven mindset.
  • Team player.
  • A desire to learn about our products, systems and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and uphold the integrity of the third-party demand planning tool and act as key user, ensuring that the output of the tool is trustworthy and actionable for the purchasers
  • Participate in forecast review and validation process, provide clear reporting on forecast accuracy and act as a key player in strengthening S&OP practices into the business.
  • Refine sales forecasts for existing products, collecting, checking and analysing all necessary information to increase overall forecasting accuracy and service level.
  • Lead out-of-stock reporting and root cause analysis to minimize lost sales.
  • Pro-actively identify future inventory risks and opportunities and liaise with Purchasing, Operations and Sales teams with actionable recommendations.
  • Manage phase-in and phase-out implications on forecast of obsolescent ranges and new product introductions, translating these insights into the demand planning tool.
  • Acts as a forecasting interface between purchasing and sales departments, translating commercial insights into forecast adjustments in the demand planning tool.
  • Work closely with Operations and Sales teams to refine inventory level targets in 3PL.
  • Work within an experienced and expanding Purchasing department

Job description

A market leader in the manufacturing, wholesale and distribution of plumbing supplies to the builder's merchants trade company, based in Dublin, Ireland is looking for Demand Planner on a permanent basis. This role will play a critical role in improving demand planning and forecasting practices, acting as a key link between commercial and operational functions.


The Demand Planner will own the integrity and output of newly implemented demand planning tool, to enable the purchasing team to make confident, timely decisions and improve overall stock availability. Key Responsibilities
